What a great job yesterday at the Florence July 4th Festival.
Congrats to the clarinets and trombones for a great job on their features! Between people walking up behind me and the band dodging foul balls from the baseball game, it was a great performance. I am so glad to be back and have so much fun doing this. Take care everyone and see you Monday!

My last rehearsal with you will be April 29th. Charlie Jacobson will take over while I'm away on vacation. I will return on June 24th. Please make every effort to attend rehearsals in my absence so that we are ready for the upcoming summer season.
I just wanted to take a moment to congratulate everyone on a great summer concert series. I was disappointed that we didn't have as many performances as usual, but, I guess it worked out for the best due to my knee surgeries.
I'm looking forward to the fall and hope that everyone continues to attend rehearsals. We had a great "read-through" rehearsal last night and I look forward to getting the new tunes together. Have a great week and see you Monday! Dave Great rehearsal last night. There wasn't even a lot of talking!
We will continue to rehearse at BCHS until they have our space renovated at the Government Center. Please take some time to look over Russian Christmas Music for the rehearsal on the 29th as we will spend much of our time working on it. Have a great week! Take care, Dave Great job last night at Cooper High School. I thought things went extremely well!
We received many positive comments on the performance and it gave us outstanding exposure to the community. Brad Stewart, the Band Director at Cooper High School, said his students are bugging him about getting the Video Games piece and he thought Chester Overture was outstanding. Once again, I am so happy to be conducting the Florence Community Band and feel we get better every time we perform. Thanks for working hard last night at rehearsal.
I know we had to do alto of "digging in" on Chester, but it is coming along nicely. We should have a nice concert on October 26th. Don't forget that I have posted audio recordings of the music in our folder for you to use in preparation for rehearsals. I am adding a couple more today of music I will hand out on next Monday. Have a great week! Dave I just wanted to say how happy I am to be the Director of the Florence Community Band! I am having a blast and I hope you are as well.
I feel we get a little better every time we perform. Thanks for all of your hard work over the summer. Now, as we turn our attention to our fall and winter performances, I want to encourage you to be at rehearsal as often as you can. Bring a friend. Do some recruiting! The more the merrier! I have posted "listening examples" of the 4 pieces we will be performing at the Cooper High School Concert on October 19th at 7pm. You will receive those pieces this Monday. Give them a listen if you get the chance. Have a great week and weekend. It looks like a beautiful one. Take care, Dave Another great performance this past Saturday at Boone Woods.
The weather was perfect and the crowd was great! Thanks for your hard work and efforts. See you soon. Great job tonight! Sorry I didn't program enough tunes for the concert. Remember, I'm still learning. I feel we are getting a little better each performance.
Great rehearsal last night. I felt we got quite a bit worked out for our upcoming performances. I will be sending out the performance list for July 3rd today and then follow that up with a tentative list for the Boone Woods and Presidents Park in August.
